So scores came back from connective tissue and they're just what I expect...almost. I did well, except the people in my class are bloody geniuses and did even better. Exactly what you'd expect for a well-taught, interesting unit where everyone had enough time to study.
And then I looked at pharmacology - the exam I'd really studied for. I drilled myself on drugs, made up multiple study sheets and did practice questions for. Even Anna, our resident super-student remarked that I knew my stuff on exam morning. I even felt confident during the exam and caught two mistakes when I went back to re-check my answers. So why on earth did I get such a dismal score? Everything is still fine, I'm still passing the course, but I was absolutely shocked to see my percentage.
Up until this point, if a bad score came back, I knew why - cardio and renal were tough, and I slacked off during dermatology. But this... this I have no explanation for, and that's scary.
I mean, I'm starting to think about the BigScaryHairy Exam that's rapidly approaching, and wondering if I'm not going to have the same thing happen to me there.
In med school, you live and die by your test taking ability. I sincerely hope this this whole thing is just a fluke and not an indication that I've lost my multiple-choice mojo.
PS. So as to not leave this on a sour note, I have a house! I will be an apartment dweller no more! These last two years of med school may be downright not-unpleasant, folks. :)

BTW, I hope you don't mind I finally added your personal journal to my friend list since we have some common interests (BPAL, Med Stuff, Firefly, and Star Wars) and you seem like a nifty person.
